You’ve really got two choices:
1) Recognize that you do good work, and probably make the average person’s life slightly better, rather than slightly worse. (I understand there are pills available which increase the likelihood of firing the particular synapses involved in this recognition.)
2) other
yes, yes, rob. drugs have helped a lot of people, but for me they’re not the answer. sometimes you just feel really sad, for one reason or another. there is nothing wrong with that. to deny your feelings and to try to push them aside would be unmindful, and would probably cause bigger problems down the road. letting yourself experience the “bad” feelings and working through them will lead to more personal growth. i’m looking forward to that part of it. it has already caused me to feel more compassionate towards others in similar and worse situations.
this isn’t a call for attention, just me trying to be honest. my life sometimes isn’t cute and happy and wonderful, why should i pretend otherwise?
